Christmas rush! Don’t be left out.

What seemed like it will never come to be in month of January is now here with us. Yes! two days counting to Christmas! How are you ushering it? I believe by now we are all set on how to celebrate our Christmas Holidays.

However, some challenges though. A lot of people traveling to different parts of the country causing congestion at bus station making it very difficult for people to maintain social distance as to covid 19 guidelines.

True to say that the transport business is really booming now that they don’t wait for people to board. People started booking earlier enough and for those who didn’t, they are finding it tough. Sometimes they are forced to postpone their journey due to lack of means of transport.

For those having personal means, they are not spared either. Traffic jam has become a nuisance along the highways. This has been brought by a large number traveling using their means while others hire cars for Christmas Holidays.

The SGR trains are already fully booked. The train to Nanyuki from Nairobi has been forced to reschedule its program to meet the demand of a high number of passengers.

Supermarkets and malls are overcrowded as people struggle to get their best for Christmas. Christmas trees and Christmas lights business taking the frontline. People are seen shopping luxuriously as this is not a daily way of doing it. Such kind of shopping mostly comes once in a year to most of the people and so is something to be celebrated for.

For those who will be slaughtering, the animal is just within the compound waiting for the D-Day. Yeah, waiting to throw a party!

That’s how things are here. I thought coronavirus pandemic would hinder the festive mood, but people are determined to visit their loved ones.

What about at your place? How are people ushering the Christmas?

Best places to spend your Christmas Holidays

Hi good people, it’s 20th of December already in Christmas mood How are you planning to spend the holidays? Today I would like to share where best I prefer spending my Christmas Holidays.

It is obvious that people have different interests depending on different factors. For those who have been living in town, they would prefer to spend their holidays away from hustle and bustle of the city. So, country side becomes one of their best destiny for their holidays.

To those who live upcountry, visiting the cities is the top in their list. They want to relax from daily chores of the farms.

Others will prefer to visit tourist attractions such as game parks or spend their holidays at the hotels where everything is taken care of. This is mostly preferred by ladies who have been taking care of the family. They need the break from the kitchen as well as enjoying pampering from the family members.

Country home is my take for Christmas Holidays. I love that morning when birds wake me up with their chirping and tweeting sound. The sight of the sun rise from the East is amazing not to mention that cool atmosphere that comes with the sun set.

Having meals prepared with products direct from my farm is refreshing. I also take this time to bond with the cows and the pets.

How and where do you prefer spending your holidays? Kindly share as you leave a comment. See how I spent my life in the village here

See what students are doing at school

It is obvious that when students go back to school, they have gone there to learn the stipulated curriculum. This is no more as students are found doing strange things.

In my previous post, I wrote on teenagers and relationship. Of late, since the coronavirus pandemic knocked, there have been so many cases of teenage pregnancy. The sexual abuse is also in the rise from both the friends and relatives.

The government found it wise for some classes going back to school on October and this brought a relief to the parents as many had difficulties in maintaining them at home

From the digital learning to classroom again! But are the students just learning the curriculum in school. Now that there are a few students in the school; class 4&8 and form 4, the students have taken the whole compound all by themselves including the dark corners. Toilets and deserted corridors are having new love birds where all manner of discovery is put to test including intimacy act, all this within the school compounds.

Are these students extending what they were doing at home to school? Teachers have been put between the rock and the hard place especially when they find them red-handed. The morals and values are depreciating day by day. If the teacher happens to involve the parent on the issue, he or she disagrees with the teacher by saying his or her child is innocent. This has happened mostly because some of the parents don’t ‘know’ their children.

Are the teachers being overworked without support from the parents and the community at large?

Do you support the act of the students? Can we say there is a gap when it comes to how to discipline the child? Kindly share your opinion as you comment.

Competency Based Curriculum

A change mostly comes with challenges where not everybody is ready for it. Others feel they don’t need disturbance from their comfort zones.

This has happened to the shift of 8-4-4 system to CBC. The new curriculum has faced a lot of challenges from both the parents and the teachers. No matter how much effort the government is putting to make sure the teachers are conversant with the curriculum, the parents feel that the competency Based Curriculum is a burden to them.

Some parents argue that the workload they are supposed to handle is too much bearing the mind that they are not only busy, but financing the system is also difficult. This is mostly from the parents who live a hand to mouth life.

The government doesn’t want to hear any of this and so it is geared to see that the system has succeeded no matter what. The teachers who feel the curriculum is demanding so much from them have no option rather than accepting it and move on.

To the contrary, learners are happy about it. They enjoy interacting with digital world as well as participating in practical learning areas such as Music, Agriculture, Home science, Art and Craft.

What is your take on the new curriculum? Kindly leave a comment.

Effects of Elections on covid 19

I have noted with a lot of concern on how people adhere to the pandemic guidelines. People have been seen campaigning without maintaining social distance in Countries and counties which have held elections. Others don’t put on mask and if they do, they hang it on the chin.

My question is, why do rules seem to be taken for granted by both the citizens and the leaders when it comes to politics meetings? The leaders keep reminding us about the precautions yet to them, it seems that it is easier said than done.

If this leaders get infected with the coronavirus, not only are they able of visit the best hospitals but also they have enough money that may be needed for the treatment. But what about the normal person attending those rallies, if the worst happen, nobody will remember him. The vaccine may not get you alive.

It’s good we check on our health.

So let’s not forget to take care of ourselves because if we don’t, nobody will.

Already in Christmas mood

Sometimes back, Christmas mood was experienced some days to 24th and 25th. Nowadays, the moment we get into December 1, the Christmas vibes feel the air.

Supermarkets have been decorated with Christmas colours. Town streets have not been left behind on this as they twinkle beautifully especially at night.

To attract more customers, companies are already giving Christmas offers where some of the commodities are being sold at a lower price.

One might think Christmas day is tomorrow because of the surrounding mood.

I think this month should be as well known as Christmas month. Most of the Hotels are fully booked. Those traveling to upcountry, some have left already and also Christmas shopping has started as well.

The nice tunes of Christmas carols from different radio stations tells it all; Christmas is near!

Are you experiencing the same? Let’s connect by a follow and a comment.

A lesbian kenyan pastor – Ciscasquapro

Can you believe it? If not then you have to. A lady who owns a church, she is the pastor of that church and she speaks out loudly saying she is a lesbian and she likes it.

The lady who comes from Machakos county was interviewed in one of local TV station together with other pastors who were opposing her decision of being a lesbian.

I don’t want to make conclusion whether this is right or wrong. After reading this you will be in a better position to make yours.

The lady said that all through her life, she was attracted by the same gender(female). She narrates that her 20 year marriage had not been easy because he never loved her husband.

Being a pastor, she could tell the husband that they were going to seminars for days with her woman friend. The husband was okay with, after all, her company was a female and more so, they were attending church duties.

Little did it cross the mind of the husband that the woman was the pastor’s sex partner! This continued until the man died after staying with him for 20 years.

His death gave her a better chance where she explored her urge to the maximum.

The lady has daughters and when she was asked whether they knew about it, this is what she said ” My daughters know it and they are comfortable with it.” The interviewer asked, ” What about the congregation, don’t they doubt your faith?” “Of course not, I have a good number who come to my church. They know I am lesbian because I don’t hide it. This has never been a threat to my ministry,” she replied.

See her story in one of her interviews.

What do you think about her? Kindly share as you comment. Also get more other insights here

The beauty of Sunday Morning -Sunday Vibes

Sometimes we go through so much that we doubt the manifestation of God’s power in our lives. I have good news for you today. No matter what you are going through, God will come to your rescue. Just hang on, the morning is coming…and all will be over!

God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in time of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and the mountains fall into the ocean depths; even if the seas roar and rage, and the hills are shaken by violence.

There is a river that brings joy to the city of God, to the sacred house of the most high. God is in that city, and it will never be destroyed; at early dawn He will come to its aid.

Nations are terrified, kingdoms are shaken; God thunders, and the earth dissolves.

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge…. Psalms 46: 1-7

Have a blessed Sunday!

Why pregnant women didn’t eat eggs

It is festive season when we want to try most of the recipes. To make most of our home bakings tasty, we do add eggs. But the question is, are they good for pregnant women?

There is one community that didn’t allow their pregnant women to enjoy eating eggs when pregnant. It was a taboo which called for heavy punishment. Why was this the case?

Mostly, in african tradition, most rules were put to protect the people from the problems. There was no explanation to the taboos as they were called. It was a must do it or get punished.

Later, people came to realize that scientifically, eggs provide proteins which do a lot in building the body.

If pregnant women ate the eggs, the baby would grow to be so big that it could threaten it’s life or that of the mother or both. There were no hospital to take care of any birth complications and so by not eating eggs, the mother and her baby were protected.

This is no more with the high technology and scientists who can tackle most of the problems. Women can eat anything as long as it does not harm them directly.

Do you have such taboos or other beliefs that expectant mothers should adhere to? I will be happy to hear it. Kindly leave it as you comment.

The husband caught his wife red-handed (Ciscasquapro)

You may not believe it, but he caught me red handed!

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him. I stood speechless not knowing what to do next. It was true that he didn’t miss his target!

What will I tell him? How will I explain it? A lot of rhetorical questions crisscrossed my mind. Will he ever trust me again?

He had been saying it time and again, but I always denied. Now I had to plead with him for forgiveness.

Mostly he comes home drunk after saying that he doesn’t have money to support the family. Where did he get the money to buy alcohol?

This made me to sneak to his coat pocket or wallet and took some money from there. I had been doing it for some months without him noticing. Incase he did, I always defended by accusing him of visiting bars and that could be where he was losing his cash.

Sometimes he couldn’t ask because it meant that he had some money yet he couldn’t support the family and that couldn’t end well with him. He had been an irresponsible father.

There is this evening when he arrived home totally drunk. He went straight to bedroom and put his wallet carelessly. I thought this was a good chance to do my normal routine. After making sure he was snoring, I took his wallet and took some money.

Before I could make a move, he jumped out of the bed and gave me a king size slap that made me dizzy for some minutes. For all this time, he had been pretending to be drunk. Little did I know that it was a trap.

Having been caught red-handed, I had little or nothing to say. ……..this was a story from one of the ladies in our neighborhood.

Have you ever found yourself in such a situation? I would love to hear your story too as you leave a comment. Get more

What ginger, garlic, tumeric and lemon did to me

I was happy to share this as it may be of a great help to some.

Ciscas's avatarCiscasquapro

I have been writing a number of posts , and this one was inevitable….. Ginger, garlic, tumeric and lemon are easily available in our markets. I didn’t know how these products were powerful until the time I used them.

We may have ignored their importance but they stand to offer great help to our bodies. I am one of those people who used to hate the garlic smell not to mention the tumeric taste.

Last week, I was suffering from cold and flu. At first, I was shocked as this is one of the covid 19 symptoms. You can imagine how scared I was. I decided to take it easy and tried to manage it by myself and then I would visit the doctor later if it didn’t work. I went fetching for the products in the nearby market.

I then prepared them and mixing everything except lemon which I…

Why he did it on Thursday #Throughbackthursday

Everyone’s mind was full of rhetoric questions on why he did it. The previous night he seemed to be okay. He didn’t look disturbed. Everything went on well until the following day when they discovered that he was no more.

He had committed suicide. On the table there was a note written, ” I can’t take it anymore. I have tried to be a man but the force is too strong for me to bear. It is this day I was born. The same day I got married. The same day l divorced and the same day I die. Thursday, I owe you everything!”

It was sad, but they couldn’t help.

So, when stressed let’s find someone whom we can tell our problems.

Is Santa real? – Ciscasquapro

There is this story about Santa visiting people and giving them presents during Christmas holidays. In western countries, this has been practised for decades. Children are told stories on how Santa will visit.

Is the story a fiction or real? Do kids believe in it? When they grow up and understand the whole thing about Santa, what might be their reaction? Do adults lie to kids?

Kindly let’s know your thought.

Why we need to take care of the environment

Sometimes it is so hurting to see someone throwing garbage anywhere. Yesterday, a lady who looked very presentable took garbage from her hotel and threw it on the road. The previous day, the same road had been cleaned by a certain youth group. I felt so bitter but I couldn’t do anything. The face she gave us was so scary that we couldn’t dare to talk.

Just after some minutes, heavy rain started falling. It was too much that it swept the garbage towards the lady’s hotel. It even blocked the way to the hotel while some found its way inside the hotel. Those who were inside were forced to jump over the waste to access the road. Though we were not able to warn her, but the nature deed.

So what you give to the nature, the same it gives back. You smile, it smiles back to you. You frown, it also do the same. You throw the garbage to it, it throws it back severely.

So let us all be responsible where we can!
