How I made it (epi4)

So far so good, I hope you have been enjoying the story. Let’s know what happened after the hospital incident. Kindly share it with your friends….For those who missed the last episodes, I have catered for you here

” Who else could have given out my contact to the hospital staff?” I interrogated myself paying more attention to the man. The doctor uncovered him slightly to show me more parts that were injured. This is the time I discovered that it was Hopekins- my former classmate. This was the last thing that could come to my mind. I couldn’t help it. He was just fine the day before and now unconscious. He couldn’t talk to me. I tried calling him but nothing gave me hope. I cried helplessly as I sat at the edge of his hospital bed.

Last time I was with him, we didn’t talk much. We had agreed on meeting again and share more over a cup of coffee. Now this was not to be. It would take time before he recovers. I wanted to know what he had been doing since the time we parted ways after forth form.

Just then, the nurse entered the room.”Madam, we would like to give the patient more time to rest. Kindly leave and come back tomorrow. I am sure that he will be okay.” She changed his bedding as I walked out having nothing else I could do.

It was already late to go back to the office. I wanted to know whether Bryan reported to work. So I decided to call him but the phone call couldn’t go through. It bothered me so much that I felt exhausted with all the day’s events. At first I thought it was Bryan who was at the hospital. Where could he be? The last episode will him made me feel unsafe. By the time I was getting to the house, I was too tired to do anything else apart from jumping in my bed and before I new it, I was deep asleep.

It was now around 8am the following day. Hopekins could slightly move his hands. His open eyes could gaze at me without recognizing me. It was so sad seeing him in a such State. I had to rush to the office and so I excused myself. I promised the nurse that I would be coming back to check on him.

Reaching at the office, I noted there was an envelope on the table. It must be Bryan! What could it be? I took the envelope, got the letter and started reading.

Dear Sarah, it is with a heavy heart that I write this letter. I didn’t find a better way of saying it. I am sorry to say that Bryan………

Hope you don’t want to miss the next episode….. follow me…..want to give your opinion….. comment…. for more…get it here

My Life in the village(pt3)..Ciscas

To catch up with the story, see the previous part.

It was during one of the school holidays. My mother had put a tight schedule to make sure we were always busy as always. All Tuesdays were spared for a duty of fetching firewood from a neighbouring forest. It was not an obvious thing because the forest was guarded and so we had to play our cards well to make sure that we were not caught. To us, this was not a difficult task as we always knew how to manoeuvre our way.

On that day, I woke up early. Alerted other girls from the neighbourhood and finally we had made a group of eight girls. We knew going to the forest alone could be risky and that is why we made sure we formed a strong group. Equipped with all what we needed such like pangas, axes and ropes, there we went to pursue our mission.

Don’t dare to make a move, if you try to act weirdly, you might go back to your mother in a different form!

A scaring voice from one of the guards thundered

We were all scared to death as we did not know our fate. They tied our hands with our own ropes and frogmarched us to an open field inside the forest before taking us to their station where they locked us in a shanty room. For all this time, we hadn’t noticed that Florah, one of the girls, was not with us! Where could she be? Did she manage to escape or something bad has happened to her? Everyone of us was worried. We knew the forest was not the best place to be and especially late in the evening due to some wild animals which used to take the advantage of the dark to harass the village.

It was now getting late, yet we had no idea what was in store for us. We could here the guards conversing outside but we comprehended nothing at all as they were from a different community. No one understood their language. We tried to scream to attract their attention, but the effort bore no fruits. One of them could understand some words from our language but what he did was just to scold us commanding us to keep quiet.

Finally, it was dark. There was no need to continue pleading for our freedom. After all, being in that room was safer than walking aimlessly in the forest which could be more dangerous for us. What about our parents? They must have been worried waiting for us to return home with no avail!

We tried to get some sleep but the place was too cold for most of us apart from Daisy. Neither the noise that we made nor the cold in the room could deter her visit to the slumber land.

The night was so long that we all wished for the sunrise. Everything seemed quiet apart from scaring sounds of wild animals which could be heard from time to time. Some of as couldn’t bear it any logger. They tried to build some warmth by crowding together. This helped them to get some sleep, but it wasn’t the case with Judith and I. No matter how much we tried to close our eyes, no urge of sleep dared to give us a courtesy call. We were forced to endure with the situation knowing that we had no way out!

Before we could see the morning sun rays, our worrying peace was interrupted by noise and commotion from outside. We hurriedly tried to alert those of us who were sleeping. Everybody was awake when we heard the deafening shout from a man whom we couldn’t recognise his voice!…..what next?….don’t miss the next part…let’s go this journey together….below this story, I request that you follow me….kindly share your opinion as you comment...let’s meet next time and know what happened.

My life in the village. (Pt2)- ciscasquapro

Would you like to catch up with the story? Then get it here: Life wasn’t easy at the village! part one.

I was scared to death such that I could even hear my own heart beat. There was very little to be done. The animal seemed not to be in a hurry and so the more I stood still the more I became helpless. I couldn’t control the urge to sneeze due to the cold weather that hit me like a storm. I had to let it out uncontrollably. This made the hell loose and within a blink, the ground was opening it’s mouth wide to prey on me. Nothing could stop the charging animal to get to it’s target. I was very weak to make a run. I closed my eyes not to see my own death coming to me live.

Suddenly, there was a deafening sound that left my eardrums bursting. I took refuge behind a huge tree that was near me. From there, I could see blurred images as it was still dark. The Elephant was lying helplessly on the ground.

Though it was attacking me, I couldn’t help to see it in great pain. Although some animals were dangerous, I still admired seeing them around. What could have happened? I took my time to watch what was happening. Somebody had shot the elephant and it was groaning in pain. This one made me shed tears. Luckily, it was injured on the leg and so it tried to struggle it’s way into the forest.

Don’t be afraid, I saw the elephant charging towards you, I had this herbs that I used to shoot it’s leg. This was only meant to numb it’s leg to disrupt it. Soon it will recover from it.

A man from nowhere addressed me.

I was happy to hear that though if it were not for the man, I couldn’t live to narrate this story. He was following me closely carrying his jerrican of milk too. All this time, I had tried to make sure my jerrican of milk was still safe. Thank God no accident happened.

I was happy to get a companion to the dairy farm. It was a day full of challenges, but it marked the end of me taking the milk as my dad could not allow such incident to happen again……Yeah! A blessing in disguise!…Dare not miss the next episode..give it a like if it’s worth it.. follow me to make sure you don’t miss it.

How I made it (epi 2) – Ciscas

In case you missed the last episode, here it is: How I made it.

Though Bryan seemed to be cool, I could tell that all was not well. I tried to prove to him that there was nothing between me and Hopekins just to make him understand which I thought he did. He seemed not to be in a hurry though it was getting late. “Bryan, I think it’s time to say goodbye and goodnight. Let’s meet tomorrow at the office. Hope I have made it clear to you.”

He did not hesitate. He stood up from where he was seated, shook my hand and wished me a goodnight. For sure I didn’t like all what was happening. It was more of pretence than real. To me, it was like a show. We parted and I was glad that he left in peace.

The night was long. I kept tossing left and right. Tried to cover myself from the cold but no sleep came on my way. “Was he sincere when he said that he was sorry? Why did he seem to be so calm?……” A lot of questions crisscrossed my mind. Yet I didn’t have the right response. I didn’t know when sleep hijacked me as I went exploring the slumber land until I was interrupted by the morning alarm.

It didn’t take long before I arrived at the office. To my surprise, Bryan had not arrived. This was unusual as he always reached office before me. I had a busy schedule and so I went straight to my day’s program.

It was now at 9:30am and Bryan had not arrived at the office. I wondered what could have happened to him. I decided to give myself time as I waited for him before going out for some field work. After half an hour, I picked my bag and some files that I needed for the field work. As I was stepping outside, the office phone rung. With a lot of enthusiasm, I rushed to pick it..”Hello… Good morning.”...to continue.. don’t miss the next episode…if you like it, give it a thumb and share. You can also connect through the email.
