Hi, I know there is a lot of buying stuff that comes with Christmas holidays. At blogmas day seven, I would like to share some tips on how to do your shopping.
We are doing this amidst the challenges brought about by coronavirus and so it might be tougher compared to other years.
- Buy what you can. Don’t compete with your neighbours in the name of doing Christmas shopping.
- If you have plenty, remember to share with the less fortunate.
- Buy most important things first, avoid impulse buying.
- For those who are opening schools on January, save for school fees first then do shopping with the rest.
- There is life after Christmas, so, don’t drain yourself too much. You will still need basic needs later.
- Last but not least, be careful when buying online products. Be careful of scammers.
With those few tips, shop with care.
What and where are you shopping?
This happened at Kenya ni Mimi Youth Campaign which was held at Bomas of Kenya where his excellence president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta set the ball rolling.
There was a question and answer session where the president answered some questions from the youth. He encouraged them to be ambitious and focus to their goals. He also requested them to support Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) as it captures the youth development.
He also encouraged the youth to choose wisely when it comes to marriage. Look for a person whom they will grow together.
It was an interesting moment youth engaging him face to face.

I was happy to share this as it may be of a great help to some.
I have been writing a number of posts , and this one was inevitable….. Ginger, garlic, tumeric and lemon are easily available in our markets. I didn’t know how these products were powerful until the time I used them.
We may have ignored their importance but they stand to offer great help to our bodies. I am one of those people who used to hate the garlic smell not to mention the tumeric taste.
Last week, I was suffering from cold and flu. At first, I was shocked as this is one of the covid 19 symptoms. You can imagine how scared I was. I decided to take it easy and tried to manage it by myself and then I would visit the doctor later if it didn’t work. I went fetching for the products in the nearby market.
I then prepared them and mixing everything except lemon which I…

Sometimes we go through so much that we doubt the manifestation of God’s power in our lives. I have good news for you today. No matter what you are going through, God will come to your rescue. Just hang on, the morning is coming…and all will be over!
God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in time of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and the mountains fall into the ocean depths; even if the seas roar and rage, and the hills are shaken by violence.
There is a river that brings joy to the city of God, to the sacred house of the most high. God is in that city, and it will never be destroyed; at early dawn He will come to its aid.
Nations are terrified, kingdoms are shaken; God thunders, and the earth dissolves.
The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge…. Psalms 46: 1-7

Best attire for a wedding
A number of people are having their wedding ceremony set for the December Holidays. They consider it as away of celebrations.
I believe you have ever participated in a wedding ceremony. We all long for that day even if we are just guests. The challenge that comes with the day is; what is the best dress or attire for the day?
As much as this can look a bit simple, it always gives people headache. The bride and the bridegroom may choose their wedding colours of their choice.
The wedding ceremony may be different depending on the different cultures and religions. In addiction the bride and the bridegroom can also dictate the dressing code of the day.
Mostly, in african culture, we prefer women to dress in dresses and if possible african prints like ‘kitenge’. Long dress do well too.
What’s your take on this? In your culture do you have specific attire for a wedding ceremony? I would love to hear it. Kindly let’s know how it’s done. See more posts

After three days, I was free from the cold and flu! I couldn’t believe it. I felt so relieved and happy. My medicine was just a stone throw and at the same time I spent less for my treatment.
By writing this, I don’t advocate for not visiting the doctor when you feel unwell, but you can as well give it a shot.
Have you ever experienced such? Will be happy to hear how you managed it without visiting the doctor. Would you like to read other stories? Be free to get them here.
Hi everyone, ready to get a gift for your loved ones as we celebrate the Christmas? Just have a look at this…During Christmas Holidays, we expect to receive or give out gifts to the needy or loved ones. Have you ever participated in this? The excitement of Christmas gifts is very common with children. They want to have Christmas fashion that is trending. The toy car of the latest model. When this time comes, Teenagers are the most stubborn. They will make you move from shop to shop without making a choice.
My dad could visit us every Christmas after staying away for a whole year. Like every other parent, he could come with gifts to sooth our long waited love. Some of these gifts were jackets, dresses and shoes. It was a must to wear the new clothes on Christmas Day as we attended the church service. Without the new dress, one felt out of the place.
I remember that Christmas Eve when he arrived with a lot of gifts. Everyone was excited to try them out and prepare for the show off on Christmas Day.
I was eager to try them too. I took my dress, jacket and a pair of shoes. After putting it on, it was so long that not only did it touch the floor but it was off shoulders too. Not because it was the trending fashion but because I couldn’t fit in. The jacket’s sleeves were oversize and buggy, not to mention the pair of shoes which I could force my feet inside.
My brother was not spared either. His pair of trousers looked like a short while the pair of shoes was too big for him. We couldn’t imagine celebrating Christmas with old clothes and so my mum had to come up with a way out.
She took my brothers shoes, put some used clothes inside to make them smaller for him to fit in. There was too little to do with the pair of trousers which turned out to be a fake pair of shorts.
After putting on my dress, she then used my dad’s belt to tighten the waistline. This made it appear a bit shorter to allow me walk. For the sleeves, little was to be done. The shoes had no remedy and so I had to wear them as the toes pitched together. I could barely walk.
By now you can imagine how we looked. Your guess is as good as mine: scarecrows! This did not deter us from attending the Christmas Service, but by the time I got home,my toes were full of blisters. The important thing to us was we had new clothes and that is all that mattered.
As we prepare to celebrate the Christmas by giving out gifts, it is important to note that the gifts are worthy. If the need be, no harm to get more information about it. Kindly share your opinion on this. For other insights, see here.
Hi good people, it’s 3rd of December. Yes, the third day of blogmas challenge. Still going strong. The very first days of Christmas Holidays. How are you planning to spend the holidays? Today I would like to share where best I prefer spending my Christmas Holidays.
It is obvious that people have different interest depending on different factors. For those who have been living in town, they would prefer to spend their holidays away from hustle and bustle of the city. So, country side becomes one of their best destiny for their holidays.
To those who live upcountry, visiting the cities is the top in their list. They want to relax from daily chores of the farms.
Others will prefer to visit tourist attractions such as game parks or spend their holidays at the hotels where everything is taken care of. This is mostly preferred by ladies who have been taking care of the family. They need the break from the kitchen as well as enjoying pampering from the family members.
Country home is my take for Christmas Holidays. I love that morning when birds wake me up with their chirping and tweeting sound. The sight of the sun rise from the East is amazing not to mention that cool atmosphere that comes with the sun set.
Having meals prepared with products direct from my farm is refreshing. I also take this time to bond with the cows and the pets.
How and where do you prefer spending your holidays? Kindly share as you leave a comment. See how I spent my life in the village here
Everyone’s mind was full of rhetoric questions on why he did it. The previous night he seemed to be okay. He didn’t look disturbed. Everything went on well until the following day when they discovered that he was no more.
He had committed suicide. On the table there was a note written, ” I can’t take it anymore. I have tried to be a man but the force is too strong for me to bear. It is this day I was born. The same day I got married. The same day l divorced and the same day I die. Thursday, I owe you everything!”
It was sad, but they couldn’t help.
So, when stressed let’s find someone whom we can tell our problems.
Take a bath
Eat early enough
Take herbal tea
Do not use your phone 30 minutes before you go to bed

There is this story about Santa visiting people and giving them presents during Christmas holidays. In western countries, this has been practised for decades. Children are told stories on how Santa will visit.
Is the story a fiction or real? Do kids believe in it? When they grow up and understand the whole thing about Santa, what might be their reaction? Do adults lie to kids?

Today being the World AIDS’ Day, it is important to love the AIDS victims and stop the stigma that comes with the HIV especially now that the coronavirus can be a challenge to them. Let’s fight the monster together.
It’s my first time to participate in blogmas challenge. These are 25 days of blogging until Christmas. I am taking the challenge up hoping to make it.
Kindly wish me success.
Sometimes it is so hurting to see someone throwing garbage anywhere. Yesterday, a lady who looked very presentable took garbage from her hotel and threw it on the road. The previous day, the same road had been cleaned by a certain youth group. I felt so bitter but I couldn’t do anything. The face she gave us was so scary that we couldn’t dare to talk.
Just after some minutes, heavy rain started falling. It was too much that it swept the garbage towards the lady’s hotel. It even blocked the way to the hotel while some found its way inside the hotel. Those who were inside were forced to jump over the waste to access the road. Though we were not able to warn her, but the nature deed.
So what you give to the nature, the same it gives back. You smile, it smiles back to you. You frown, it also do the same. You throw the garbage to it, it throws it back severely.
So let us all be responsible where we can!
Welcome to the new month. I wish you a happy month and happy holidays.
The days are really flying. Just the other day we celebrated Christmas holidays. It is December again. Though we have gone through hard times due to coronavirus, we thank God for the far He has taken as through.
As we join the month full of festivities, let’s not forget that the month is quite different from others. Due to the pandemic, we might not enjoy the way we used to. Let’s not forget to adhere to regulations given by ministry of health to make sure we have protected each other from the deadly virus.
May all of us have a month full of happiness. Happy New Month!
Monday comes with it’s own challenges. Many people feel that it always comes before they are ready for it. Not that they don’t want to go to work, but the body is too tied.
Some do struggle with weekend hangovers while others have to prepare kids for school. Those going to school wish the weekend could have been extended.
How do you handle your Mondays? Are they always welcomed?
My Monday is full of fatigue. I hope this will end soonest.
How God Speaks
Sometimes we are so blind to see the doings of God. We expect so much that we ignore the soft whisper in our ears. We open our eyes so wide yet we can’t see the feelings in our hearts. God can speak to us in different ways not only what we can expect. Let’s pray that we may recognize his voice and signs of his presence.
Most Sundays come with good vibes. That feeling that you are okay. Feelings of happiness, joy, love and the family unity. A sense of togetherness. A sense of humour. If there is a day I long for, it’s a Sunday.
How were your Sunday Vibes?
The church was one of many places that was closed due to corona virus pandemic. After sometimes, it was shocking seeing bars opening before the church. With influence of alcohol, the people could not adhere to covid 19 regulations. But this did not stop them from opening.
There was no register as they entered the bars or the markets which was mandatory in the church. When the church opened, there were so many restrictions compared to other places. Was this a spiritual war?
Could covid 19 be a spiritual war fighting the church? Markets are operating as usual. Political gathering are going on as if nothing is happening. But dare to call for a spiritual gathering and it will be you are infringing the health rights of the people.
Merry go round going on as usual. Table banking the same, but fellowship will spread the virus! Don’t you see as if there is more than meet the eye in this?
Is the devil trying to fight the church or is it God punishing the church? Somebody help me understand why only in church gatherings that the coronavirus will spread more! As we pass wishes of a blessed Sunday, most of us are just at home.
Children are going to school. Practising social distance has not been possible but they are still in operation. All other business working as normal but we cannot still meet as church members and discuss issues affecting the church.
All in all, let’s be vigilant, the enemy comes to steal, to destroy and to kill.
Sunday motivation – Ciscasquapro

Wishing all of us A Blessed Sunday.
